I am always so beyond excited to photograph such a very important event as a family expecting their first child. This couple has been together for 11 years and they have finally decided it was time to add a newest member.
Palm Springs is such an amazing place for maternity photography, where literally every angle is a beautiful backdrop. We had our maternity photoshoot in La Quinta Resort and Spa, a transcendent resort with mountain views and rustic-chic interiors.
I haven’t heard the term "babymooning” until recently but now I may just add the babymooning photography as one of the services I offer!

Maternity photoshoot at Leo Carrillo Ranch in Carlsbad
Josie and Dave were one of my first clients who have had me photograph some of the most important milestones of their new little family - baby announcement, baby gender reveal and of course, maternity.
We chose Leo Carrillo Ranch historic park in Carlsbad not just because it is a gorgeous property with peacock birds, woodsy rustic vibe and a super cute architecture (what a lovely venue overall!) but also because Josie was 38 weeks pregnant for this photoshoot and wasn’t feeling the most comfortable so we just picked the nearest park to their house and it was the best decision! I cannot believe how stunning this mama looked in her Mamabump dress. We had fun having Dave toss the gown train and run (according to Dave, he’d do anything to get out of being in pictures but this time it worked out for us), and even had a peacock photobomb one of the pictures.

Maternity photoshoot in Balboa park, San Diego
Ana from Brazil and Zak from Florida, US met all the way in Japan and moved continents to settle down in San Diego, and I am so glad they did because San Diego and Southern California in general including locations like Coronado island, Palm Springs, Orange County are truly photographer’s paradise and have so much to offer for any kind of a photoshoot.
Ana and Zak originally hired me for a pregnancy announcement photoshoot we did on Coronado island by the hotel Del last fall, and for the maternity session Ana chose San Diego’s cultural treasure, Balboa Park. Being the largest urban cultural park in North America, Balboa with it’s stunning architecture and picturesque scenery is one of the best spots for belly bump pictures in San Diego. Cactus garden, Spreckels Organ Pavilion, Alcazar garden and of course my favorite - the famous park fig tree. I think that tree has some maternal energy because a lot of my mommies-to-be clients looove to take picture in those roots.

Coronado beach pregnancy announcement
Ana and Zak met while both of them were living in Japan and they couldn’t have found a better place than San Diego to raise their baby. I cannot wait to meet this couple again for Ana’s maternity session in January and then a newborn shoot in April, I am sure it is going to be a lot of fun with this couple!
Maternity photoshoot in Hospital point, La Jolla
I actually met Jessica in a grocery store where she has been shopping with her little one, Kyla. I usually do not stalk people but they looked so adorable I couldn’t help giving Jessica my business card. Few weeks later Jessica contacted me to set up a photoshoot and I couldn’t have been more excited! This sweet little family is expecting a baby boy at the end of this year and I cannot wait to photograph their newest addition!
Maternity session at Hospitals Point in La Jolla, CA
Dressed in a gorgeous red pregnancy gown, this mama-to-be looked stunning showing off her baby bump, and by the looks of it, her husband couldn’t agree more.
Briana contacted me for a maternity session and her and her husband Richard were a dream to work with because of how crazy they are about each other! Briana wore a stunning red dress as the breeze drifted through her hair, and Richard was the perfect partner who couldn’t keep his eyes off of her!
I cannot wait to see Briana and Richard as parents to their second child, a sister to Richard Jr.
Family photoshoot in La Jolla at the Hospitals Point
Kristina picked Hospital Point in La Jolla for her family photoshoot. Hospital Point, south of Children's Pool in La Jolla is not a typical sandy beach, it is a unique rocky bluff with small pockets of sand. The tide was low and the boys loved exploring tide pools and chasing tiny crabs. Hospital point is such a great place to photograph, and the rocks with potholes that look like moon craters create a great background for pictures. Some of those craters were filled with water reflecting the beautiful sunset and it was magical!

This family melts my heart. Just notice how Rob looks at Jessica like she is the only girl in the world, and then Royal and little Phoenix are a total cuteness overload.
We met by Hotel Del in Coronado, a major resort destination and a tourist attraction across the San Diego Bay from Downtown San Diego for a little pre-sunset beach photoshoot. Coronado Beach has picture perfect sandy beaches, amazing for family, couples or kids to play along.
I love the matching outfits Jessica has picked for her family photoshoot, and what a fantastic job she did with her makeup (Jessica is a makeup artist and you should check her out!)

I met with this adorable family in La Jolla.
The little girl was so sweet and had so much personality, while the older sister was the sweetest with her piercing green eyes and all that thick beautiful hair.
I absolutely loved working with this family when we shot in La Jolla, CA right by Scripps Pier. They picked great matching outfits and were genuinely having fun.

Misty, Mike and the kids: photoshoot in Seaport Village, San Diego
Apart from being parents of four, my extremely good looking Canadian friends Misty and Mike are professional models (and so are their kids!). Misty and Mike hired me to take pictures of the whole family as well as some individual headshots they could share with their modeling agent.
We met in Seaport village, a pretty waterfront shopping and dining complex by the bay, full of fun boutiques, great dining and seasonal live music events, close enough to Downtown San Diego that you can go there easily, but far enough to be a great escape.
Misty has picked the navy, grey and white color palette for her family outfits and looked classy and elegant in her dress made by a local vendor.

“Who needs superheroes when there are moms?”
Windansea Beach in La Jolla is a great place for a stroll, to watch the sunset or the surfers, as it is consisted a surf break beach. But the San Diego Photogaphers love Windansea Beach for the sandstone bluffs and the water being several shades of blue.
I have known Candice for many years and she is definitely a superhero mom.
